Pro-Medica Diagnostic Laboratory Services Ltd was inaugurated on 1st July 1996 to serve the Mauritian Public and the Medical Fraternity with a comprehensive diagnostic pathology service. Whether it is for a routine medical checkup, finding the cause( diagnosis)  of a patient’s complaint, or for the purpose of monitoring a prescribed treatment, we aim to offer a reliable, accurate and rapid service.

Our head office is situated in the Medical Centre of Labourdonnais Court in Port Louis, and comprises of our administrative and technical divisions. In addition we have several branches of our laboratory (collection points) in Plaine Verte, Port Louis, Pailles, Triolet, Riverside Riviere du Rempart Commercial Centre, and in early 2012, Nexteracom Tower 3 Medical Centre in Ebene. The aim of these branches is to be in proximity of our clients. No laboratory tests are carried out on these sites, but samples are collected from them and transported in appropriate cool containers for analysis at the head office.

Our head office and all our branches open at 7.30am (Monday to Saturday) to allow for blood taking for those who are fasting and who can call at our premises prior to attending their occupation. The majority of our results are available on the same day and can be transmitted by fax or email on demand. We are closed on Sundays and Public Holidays.

Our philosophy is to ensure that every patient gets a courteous, reliable service. Every abnormal result is automatically repeated without incurring any extra charge to the patient. 

We adhere closely to business ethics and good governance. In this respect, we do not offer any commission or incentive to prescribing doctors or any other individual who refer patients to us. Instead we prefer to offer discounts to our patients. In addition, we refuse categorically to falsify receipts even when requested by individuals for the purpose of Insurance claims.
